Course catalog
The full SIP Train Phase 1 catalog. Each course maps to a specific certification track and stands alone as a deep technical resource you can refer back to long after the exam.
Foundation track
Two courses. The complete fundamentals of SIP signalling, transactions, dialogs, registration, media negotiation, and real-world SIP behaviour.
9 modules · 41 lessons · ~7.5h structured content · 6 PCAP labs
Architecture, headers, methods, response codes, transactions and dialogs, registration and digest authentication, basic SDP, and protocol-level troubleshooting. Closes with a CVA exam-prep module.
Course outline → Available at launch9 modules · 39 lessons · ~10.5h commitment · 7 PCAP labs
PRACK and 100rel, UPDATE, REGISTER in the real world (outbound, NAT, keep-alives), SUBSCRIBE/NOTIFY for BLF and presence, REFER and call transfer, Replaces and attended transfer, session timers, target refresh.
Course outline →Intermediate track
Two courses. Media transport at depth, session border controllers, and the operational engineering layer above CVA.
CVP track · target launch Q3 2026
Codec selection and bandwidth math, RTP packet format, RTCP SR/RR analysis and RTT calculation, jitter buffer dynamics, SRTP keying and DTLS-SRTP, comfort noise and DTX behaviour, RTCP-mux, BUNDLE, and the practical workflows for diagnosing media-quality complaints from a PCAP.
CVP track · target launch Q3 2026
SBC architecture and topology hiding, NAT traversal, transcoding economics, header manipulation and message rewrite, redundancy and failover modes, capacity planning, and the vendor-agnostic operational discipline of running SBCs in production.
Advanced track
Two courses. Carrier-class voice engineering, SS7/SIGTRAN, and the operational realities of tier-1 telco voice.
CCVE track · target launch Q4 2026
ISUP and the IAM/ACM/ANM/REL/RLC sequence, SIGTRAN over SCTP, M3UA architecture, IP-STP deployment, MAP for SMS, and the SIP–ISUP interworking patterns that carriers actually use rather than the textbook-clean version.
CCVE track · target launch Q4 2026
Number portability across markets, IMS architecture and roaming, regulatory routing constraints, fraud detection patterns, capacity and cost engineering, and the long-tail interconnect issues only carrier engineers ever see.
No. Each course stands alone, and you can buy any course individually. That said, CVP material assumes CVA-level fluency, and CCVE material assumes CVP-level fluency. If you're a working carrier engineer and want to challenge straight into CVP or CCVE, you can — the certification exam is the same regardless of which courses you took to prepare for it.
Yes. Final certification exams are proctored online. Module quizzes are open-book and self-paced. The proctored model is part of how we keep the credential meaningful.
A 7-day cool-off applies before retake. You get a feedback report showing which topic areas to review, and your second attempt is included in the certification fee.
The first lesson of every course is fully open — no signup, no email capture. Read it, run the lab if there is one, and decide whether the depth matches what you need.
SIPT-101 and SIPT-102 are available at launch. See pricing or get in touch about team plans.
